Shisha Tobaco and Pipe

Hookah also recognized as a hubble-bubble, narghile, shisha, or water pipe, among other names, hookah or shisha have been used for a smoothtobacco smoking experience in Asia and the Middle East for centuries. Coming to the Middle East starting from India, the hookah started out as a humble coconut shell. In Turkey, it evolved into the true hookah, becoming a mainstay of coffee house life through the 17th century. Hookah smoking is still very common in cafes and restaurants all through the Middle East.

The tobacco in hookah is different from that found in cigarettes, or any other form of tobacco. It is traditional with a damp blend – fresh tobacco leaves with molasses or honey and semi-dried fruit or fruit pulp. Some people would put in pomegranate juice or perhaps rose oil was added to the water. Later, hookah tobacco is also mixed with fruit extracts and tobacco in the 1980s they began experimenting with different flavors, so that now an assortment highly aromatic hookah tobacco is generally available.

The body, or govde, of a shisha pipe consists of a curved vessel which holds water. A graceful stem rises from the body and and be at the top of the stem is a bowl, or lle, which holds the tobacco. From one to a number of flexible hoses, the marpuc, with a mouthpiece, or agizlik, at the end, are used to draw the shisha smoke down all the way through the water. The shisha tobacco is heated by coal and the water filters and cools the smoke. and in the process makes the smoke cool and smooth.
